Rory Roberts began her stage career at the age of nine, when she quite by accident ‘discovered’ Shakespeare and instantly fell in love. Since then, she has played a wide array of roles onstage, most notably Emilia in Desdemona, A Play About a Handkerchief, Vera Charles in Auntie Mame, Constance Bonancieux in The Three Musketeers, part of the ensemble in The Complete History of America, Abridged, and Mary, Queen of Scots and Cleopatra in a pair of one-woman-shows which she also wrote and directed.
Rory spent the summer months of 2004 living and working in London under the mentorship of Cheeky Maggot Productions. During that time, she was involved with both of the writers’ programs at the Hampstead Theatre, where she also assisted in the performances of the adult groups’ plays. She assisted in rehearsals for The Wild Party at Riverside Studios, and for the world-premiere of a musical based on a Terry Pratchet novel, Only You Can Save Mankind, which showed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival that autumn.
Rory graduated in 2006 with a BFA in Directing from Texas State University. When not at her nine-to-five with Dripping Talent Productions, she can be found with family and friends, reading a good book, working with her foster cats, or writing her first full-length screenplay.
