One question you may be asking yourself right now is, "why another theatre company in Austin?  Aren't there already enough?"  Yes, Austin is blessed with a wealth of unique companies, all of them offering something different to the community.  However, I'm a firm believer in making things happen for yourself, and since I have a desire to see a certain type of theatre brought to Austin, and a desire to make the classics (both known and unknown) accessible to the public, I thought I'd get some pals together and see what sorts of trouble we could rouse.

Thus, with much love and luck (and we're talking about a lot of both!), Rory Gene has come into being.  To put it simply, I wanted to produce shows that I love, shows that I think have something to say or give to an audience.  I've been fortunate enough to be joined by a great team of young women who share my goals and vision.  We aim to bring our love of theatre and literature to our audiences, and plan on developing educational programs utilizing the classics (like Shakespeare) as we grow as a company.

I'm hoping that audiences and artists in this area can really benefit from what Rory Gene has to offer.  We'll see you on the stage!
